Nokia N900 Firmware v1.2 (V10.2010.19-1) Released-Includes New Games, Facebook IM Chat, Video Calling, Face To Face Chatting

Nokia has officially released the firmware version 1.2(V10.2010.19-1) for the Nokia N900. It is the most awaited firmware update for the Nokia N900, it has to be released in the mid April 2010 but delayed due to some reasons. But it is now available for download via the Over The Air (OTA) for the UK people. And the rest will receive the update by tomorrow, i.e by May 26th.

In this update Nokia have concentrated on so many features like games, Facebook chat, video calling, face to face chatting, communication, Email, portrait browsing, Ovi Maps UI, menu system UI…etc.

What the update has in Nokia Conversation’s words: -

First up – new games join the veritable arcade already on offer in Ovi Store. Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster, Zen-bound, Angry Birds (level pack), Sygic, Kroll, Weatherbug, and GoGadget are all available to keep you entertained. Important to note though that Ovi Store will do a full switchover this week Thursday, May 27, so these games and other for-purchase apps will show up then.

Next are the improvements to communication. Email has been improved with the ability to accept or decline an event invitation right there in your inbox, and Facebook IM chat has also been bundled in. The release also brings with it video calling, allowing users face-to-face chatting anywhere.

An additional update you will be pleased to hear about is portrait browsing on the internet is a-go on the N900. Ovi Maps also gets the update treatment with changes to the UI, improving the experience of finding your way around. And finally, there’s also a change to the menu system UI with the first level now customisable.
