Nokia 5800 Battery Backup Guide

Recently I have purchased a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, before going to purchase it I have asked one of my friends who already used it and he said that the battery backup is poor. After hearing his opinion I bought it without considering his experience with it. Because I strongly feel and believe that battery backup depends on the usage. The backup differs from person to person as the usage differs.

Before going to the tips we should realize one thing that “we can’t increase the battery backup in any way above the thresholds mentioned by the manufacturer” but we can better utilize it by organizing the power consumption events.

So we should organize the power consuming events. I made some things to reduce the power consumption as bellow, follow them they may help you.

1. Power is consumed when ever the processor executes an application. The more the processor executes the more the power consumption. So kill or close the unwanted applications running in background.
2. Turnoff the vibration alert for the touch screen alert.
3. Turnoff the bluetooth and Wifi if not used.
4. Make the Light time out time to a minimum value based on your need.
5. Most of the antivirus applications work in background and they consume more power. So kill them if you no longer need them (like when not browsing).
6. Screen savers are also work under background and put some extra processing burden on the processor. So don’t go for a screen saver.
7. Turn off GPS info in Camera settings.
8. Decrease the screen contrast as needed. The more the contrast the more the power consumption will be.
9. Detach the headsets from the device after the use.
10. We have sensors to sense the motion and some other tings. They work when ever we activate the screen. So lock the screen if you no longer need it to be active.

you may have installed application which might work under background and consume more and more power like antivirus, call recorders and screen savers or animations. So disable them first and charge your mobile only on battery low warning. If the problem still not yet rectified after doing all these steps then go to a Nokia care center near by you with the warranty card(bill).
