Smart Settings, this is a much needed application for all s60v5 mobiles like Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97. Smart Settings adds a quick start menu to our s60v5 mobile. On Nokia 5800 XpresMusic we can add four applications to the top bar on our mobile and we can’t add more application shortcuts on the idle screen. This Smart Settings enables us to add more application on to a single menu which occupies a shortcut place on the idle screen and there fore we can access any application on the idle screen with only two finger touches.
Main features:-
* Start Menu: It provides a way to customize your phone so that it looks in your own unique way. You can use these set of features for quick access of your favourite applications. For them you can chose speed keys (1-9). After that, they will be accessible by the Left or Right Selection Key + Their Speed Key.
* Easy Unlock: Forget the boring Unlock + * and choose the most convenient unlock combination for yourself. Your phone has never been that cool and secure
* Define the name displayed over the “Start menu” soft key.
* Define a message which will be displayed on a keystroke in case the keypad is locked and “Unlock + *” is disabled
* Define an auto lock with application –exceptions, where the keypad won’t lock

How will this give value to 5800? We don’t use unlock + *, and we don’t have the keypad readily accesible, and when we have the keys displayed we use them for fast-dial of contacts. Read the description again “Smart Settings will replace your Express Music Bar with a fully customizable list of applications”. Now, that could be useful, if well implemented.
Smart Settings replace or occupy one icon on the top bar and remaining icons and contacts and keypad still be there. It actually ads an icon on the top bar on which a drop down will be kept with the customized list of applications. Have a try.
